Russell Scott, 51, of Amarillo died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Memorial Park East Mausoleum with Terry Stout officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Russell was born Feb. 21, 1957, in Amarillo, the son of W.L. and Glenna Faye Scott. He worked as a correctional officer for Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He was a master plumber and co-owner of G&W Plumbing Inc. Russell was a member of the Plumbers Union and Plumbers & Steamfitter Local No. 196. He also was a member of Paramount Baptist Church.

He was an avid University of Texas Longhorns fan. Russell was a gentle giant who was loved by many.

He was preceded in death by his father, W.L. Scott; his grandparents, Leonard and Lola Sphond; and his mother-in-law, Lometa Hampton.
