Thomas J. Hilty
Hilty Thomas J. "Jeff" Hilty, of Powell, Ohio, formerly of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, died on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Friendship Village, Dublin Ohio after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Mr. Hilty is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jan (Sellers) Hilty; their daughter, Robin (Alan) Molnar, Dublin, OH; and son, Jeffrey (Greta), Eugene, Oregon; grandson, Thomas Richard Blagg, Dublin, OH; and brothers, Mike, Bellingham, WA) and Jack, Bellevue, WA; sister, Barbara Hilty Hines, Ft. Worth, TX; and nieces, Lauren Hilty, Kristen Hilty Eaton and Megan Hilty. He is also survived by step-grandson, William Molnar of Dublin, OH. He was a 1959 graduate of Carey High School, earned a BSBA from Bowling Green State University, and an MBA from Xavier University. Mr. Hilty spent his career with Reliance Electric and Rockwell Automation in marketing and sales management positions. In 1998 he co-founded Hilty Moore & Associates, LLC, a strategic marketing firm based in Chagrin Falls, OH. He moved to Powell, OH in 2006 after retiring. Mr. Hilty was active in his grandson's Dublin, OH Boy Scout Troop for a number of years; he also was president of the Village at Murphy's Crossing Condo Association and served on the committees and board of directors of Lakeside Chautauqua where he and Mrs. Hilty have maintained a summer cottage for many years. He was a 30-year volunteer for the United Way. The family wishes to thank all of their many friends in Columbus, Cleveland and Lakeside for their thoughtful gestures of support in addition to the many professionals at Riverside Methodist Hospital, The Cleveland Clinic and OhioHealth Hospice for their care and comfort. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lakeside Chautauqua Fund in Mr. Hilty's memory (216 Walnut Ave., Lakeside, OH 43440).
