Busse, Dennis W. 60, of Papineau, IL, passed away September15th, 2011.  He was born March 23, 1951 to Howard and Violet (Goebbert) Busse.  Mr. Busse is survived by his son, Dallas and Crystal Busse of St. Anne, Il, one brother, Glenn and Sue Busse of Galesburg, IL, one sister Joyce Busse of Shellbyville, IN, and several nieces and nephews.  A gathering time for family and friends will be Wednesday, September 21, 2011 from 3-8 p.m. at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Life Story Funeral Homes.  There will be a gathering time from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, September 22, 2011 at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Life Story Funeral Home with a celebration of his life funeral service at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetary in Aroma Twp. following the services.  Memorials may be made to the family wishes.

Papineau:  Man killed while on his lawn mower

One St. Anne man is dead, and a Martinton man is in jail for drunk driving, after a pickup truck collided with a riding lawn mower in rural Papineau Thursday evening.  Iroquois County sheriff's police arrested Daniel J. Mitchell, 39, for aggrevated DUI and driving on a revoked license after Dennis W. Busse, 60, was struck and killed.  Police said Mitchell was driving southbound in a 1996 GMC pickup truck when he struck Busse, who was riding on his lawn mower, on Iroquois County Road 2000E Road less than one mile north of Iroquois County Road 3100N Road.  Busse was pronounced dead at the scene.  Mitchell is currently being held at the Iroquois County Jail in lieu of bond.
