Donald Joseph Duda, aged 74, passed away on September 25, 2024, in Moselle, MS. Born on July 15, 1950, Donald was a cherished figure in his community and family, remembered for his vibrant personality and loving nature.
Donald's early education took place at Hickory Hill Elementary in Carpentersville, IL and Dundee Community High School in Dundee, IL. After high school, he served in the National Guard in 1974, a commitment that showcased his dedication to service. Professionally, Donald excelled as an Executive Housekeeper before taking to the roads as an OTR Trucker, a job that reflected his love for travel and adventure.
Beyond his professional life, Donald was a man of many interests including camping, bowling, golfing, and playing poker. He also found joy in the simple pleasures of life, often humorously described as driving his wife crazy, a testament to their loving and playful relationship.
Donald was a devoted husband to Susan Duda of 52 years and a loving father to Nicole (Ricardo) Reyes and Danielle (Bud) Nyden. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Richard and Andrew Reyes, and Sam Nyden. He left a great impact on his sister Katy (Mike) Turner, Cindy (Dave) Savone, sister in law, Brian Scholle, brother in law, and Mayda Duda, sister in law. He was a great UD to his many nieces and nephews: Michael (Sonya) Scholle; Stephanie (Adam) Stanton; David (Jennifer) Savone; Lindsey (Eric) Hoelter; Kelsey (Reynaldo) Querubin; Dustin (Becky) Scholle; Timothy (Mary Ann Leuthner) Duda; James (Christi) Duda, Kathleen Bruglio; Dawn (Mike) Dirmyer; Heather Duda; Joseph Duda; and GUD to Renner and Aria Stanton, as well as his numerous great-nieces and nephews who will miss him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Duda and Dolores Majewski, Wally and Judy Scholle his father and mother in law, James F. Duda his brother, Henry Bloom his uncle and Steve House his brother in law.
Donald's life will be remembered at a Celebration of Life service scheduled for Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 1-3pm at the Community Methodist Church, 400 Opatrny Drive, Fox River Grove, IL.
