Thomas W. Malinger

Thomas W. "Tom" Malinger of Lake Marion Thomas W. "Tom" Malinger, 60, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at his home. Tom was born in Franklin Park, on Nov. 12, 1951. On Aug. 4, 1973, he married Barbara J. Farrell. Tom was a resident of the Carpentersville area for most of his life. He was a 1969 graduate of Dundee Community High School. Tom was a 33 year employee of United Parcel Service. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church in West Dundee. Tom was also a former member of Elgin Moose #799. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Barbara J.; and their three children, Amy (Mike) Boyk, and David and Joanna Malinger. Tom is also survived by his father, Raymond; his sister, RaeDonna (Larry) Hartgraves; his mother-in-law, Bette Farrell; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Mars Malinger; his father-in-law, Thomas Farrell; his brother-in-law, Steven Farrell; and a nephew, David Hartgraves. Family and friends will gather for a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10, in the St. Catherine of Siena Church, West Dundee. Burial will follow in the Dundee Township East Cemetery, East Dundee. Visitation with the family will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, in the Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main St., West Dundee and again on Monday morning at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the Mass. Please omit flowers. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association .
