Patricia M. Sliwa of Carpentersville The funeral service for Patricia M. Sliwa, 58, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, at the Evangelical Free Church, 1900 Big Timber Road, Elgin. The Rev. Elliott Anderson will officiate. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery in Elgin. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today (Monday, Jan 18th) at the Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main St., West Dundee, and from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday, at the church. Born July 8, 1951, in Elgin, the daughter of the late Arnold W. and Velma F. (nee Koch) Schuring, she died Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. Pat was a lifelong resident of the area. She attended and graduated from Immanuel Lutheran School in East Dundee, and was a 1969 graduate of Dundee Community High School. Survivors include her husband, Ronald J. Sliwa; and her children, Jason (Sonja) Russell of Gilberts, Michelle Russell of West Dundee and Kristina (David) Foss of West Dundee. Pat is also survived by her stepchildren, Chandra (Brian) Smith of Houston, Texas and Robert (Lisa) Sliwa of Carpentersville; her grandsons, Jake and Jared Russell; three stepgranddaughters, Raven, Kayla and Madison; sisters, Nancy (Joseph) Podgorski of Hampshire, Mary (the late Jerry) Young of Carpentersville, Sue Ann (Dale) Ihssen of Carpentersville and Cheryl (Rod) Berglund of Antioch; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
