OLD CARPENTERSVILLE - Gary H. Schwabe, age 70, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022, at Amita/St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin. Gary was born in Elgin on October 17, 1951, and was the son of Harry S. and Adeline C. (nee Seisser) Schwabe. Gary was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1969 graduate of Dundee Community High School in Carpentersville. He was a Plumber/ Pipefitter by profession and a longtime member of Pipefitters Union Local #597. Gary was an avid Horseshoe player in the area. Survivors include his mother, Adeline Schwabe; his brother, Jeff (Cindy) Schwabe and his sister, Debbie McNeil (Randy Anderson). Other survivors include his three stepsons, John, Jeff (Erin), and Jeremy Zweifel. His grandchildren, Hunter, Aidan, and Jessica Zweifel; his niece, Ashley Schwabe and his nephew, Zach Schwabe; and his loving companion of 17 years, Marianne Hamilton. Gary was preceded in death by his father, Harry S. Schwabe; a brother in infancy; and his wife, Susan L. Schwabe on January 28, 2002. Visitation will be held at Miller Funeral Home in West Dundee on Saturday, February 5, 2022, from 11:30 A.M. until the time of funeral services at 2:30 P.M.
