Staff Sergeant Lance J. Koenig, age 33, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Carrington, ND, a member of the North Dakota National Guard 141st Engineer Combat Battalion, was killed September 22, 2004, near the northern Iraq city of Tikrit, as a result of a roadside bomb explosion.
