I've had quite a few opportunities to cross paths with Debbie in town throughout the years, usually when we'd be out and about groucery shopping for our families. When I was planning the reunion in '09; I was amazed to learn that we were practically neighbors as we only lived less than a mile apart from one another. Despite our busy schedules, we always managed to stop and chat catching up with one another and what was going on in our lives.

Was saddened to learn of her passing this evening, when Peggie VonBergen emailed me with the news.

I will always remember Deb with her cheerful and friendly disposition. She hasn't changed much at all from the gal we all knew in high school. She was the same inside and out. She will be missed. I learned through my brother, Mark that Debbie had suffered a massive heart attack.

The saddest part of Debbie's passing is that just days after her youngest grandchild, Mason was born; Nikki's joy is overshadowed by the passing of her best friend; her mom. I know that Debbie was so looking forward to the newest arrival when her life was cut short.
