Mike was a roofer and spent time in California when winter rolled around in order to find work. In the 1980's, while in California; he took his own life. We always felt like Mike was born in the wrong era. (Peg Dickson)

I used to meet Mike every morning. We talked about so many different things and often laughed about life's happenings on the way to school. I remember him taking me to his house to show me a hawk they had there. His parents used to let him have parties at the house and they were always fun. His brother, Eddie, used to go out with my cousin, Lynn Nickels. I was so saddened to hear that had Mike committed suicide. I couldn't fathom why he would want to do such a thing. He seemed to love life so much. But then, I hadn't seen him for years. Mike will stay in my heart and thoughts forever.
