Coach J. C. Duncan

James Carroll “J.C.” Duncan, age 74, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2009, in his home.

He was born May 19, 1934, in Exeter, Missouri the son of Henry Duncan and Anna (Reed) Duncan. On June 4, 1955, he was united in marriage to Patty Jean Killion, who survives. He is also survived by son, Terry Duncan of Cassville, daughter, Dianna Duncan Atnip and her husband, Doyle Atnip of Ozark, Missouri, daughter, Carol Roller and her husband, Kevin Roller of Purdy, Missouri; two very special grandsons, Mason and Phillip Roller; a sister-in-law, Pauline Duncan of Cassville, a sister-in-law and her husband, Nancy and Tom Graham of Springfield, Missouri and a special nephew, Ron Duncan and his wife, Theresa of Springdale, Arkansas.

J.C. received his education in Wheaton, Missouri. After graduating from High School, he attended University of Tulsa where he played basketball and was a member of the 1954-55 Hall of Fame Team. He began coaching at Cassville in 1956, where he taught for thirty-one years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Cassville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Cecil Duncan.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 11, 2009, in Cassville First Baptist Church under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Reverend James Weaver, Pastor Doyle Russell and Jason Mackey conducted the services. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Cassville.
