Congratulations…..you’ve been chosen to be a founding member of the Cassville Choir Booster Club.  You were picked to receive this email for one of several reasons.  You possibly have or have had family members as students in the Cassville Choirs or you are alumni of Cassville music department, or you are a faithful supporter of the Cassville School, or possibly all three.

The Choral department has a once in a lifetime event that should provide a weekend of fun for the choir department like never before.  A former teacher, Dr. Russell Robinson, is making a very special guest appearance to Cassville Schools which was his first teaching job.  Dr. Robinson’s career started at Cassville in 1972 and he taught for here 7 years.  He has since become a nationally known and highly respected figure in the choral world. He practices his doctorate at the University of Florida and has published almost 300 musical arrangements, scores, and books.

Mrs. Richmiller contacted him to see if he would be interested in coming back to be the guest conductor at this years District Choir competition to be held October 25.  To our elation, he cancelled an overseas commitment to come back to his career’s birthplace. Those of us who were fortunate enough to be a student under his direction remember him as one of the most “cool” and exciting teachers at Cassville.  He along with several other talented staff members built a very successful music program at Cassville.

We are very humbled that he has chosen to accept our invitation.  Not only is he honoring us with his acceptance to come “home”, but he has offered to write a special choral piece just for the Cassville Choirs.  We are presently in the process of making plans for the few days he is here.  We are hoping to have a special concert honoring him as well as a reception.  As you can imagine……all of this will take some funds and a lot of manpower.  If you could possibly help us organize and raise the money to bring him home, we would appreciate it.
