I guess I have to share this to everyone and we can do this on our site.... this was sent by Edwin Minerva to me in yahoo which was sent by Felicia Uelong to him.... Kudos to both you..... Here it goes.... Adelante!!!!!

This is a story really worth reading. Though, it’s a little short but I guarantee this fills you to the top.

One day a teacher asked her students to list the names of the other students in the room on two sheets of paper, leaving a space between each name.

Then she told them to think of the nicest thing they could say about each of their classmates and write it down.

It took the remainder of the class period to finish their assignment, and as the students left the room, each one handed in the papers.

That Saturday, the teacher wrote down the name of each student on a separate sheet of paper, and listed what everyone else had said about that individual.

On Monday she gave each student his or her list. Before long, the entire class was smiling. "Really?" she heard whispered. "I never knew that I meant anything to anyone!" and, "I didn't know others liked me so much," were most of the comments.

No one ever mentioned those papers in class again. She never knew if t hey discussed them after class or with their parents, but it didn't matter. The exercise had accomplished its purpose. The students were happy with themselves and one another. That group of students moved on.

Several years later, one of the students was killed in Vietnam and his teacher attended the funeral of that special student. She had never seen a serviceman in a military coffin before. He looked so handsome, so mature.

The church was packed with his friends. One by one those who loved him took a last walk by the coffin. The teacher was the last one to bless the coffin.

As she stood there, one of the soldiers who acted as pallbearer came up to her. "Were you Douglas' math teacher?" he asked. She nodded: "yes." Then he said: "Douglas talked about you a lot."

After the funeral, most of Douglas' former classmates went together to a luncheon. Douglas' mother and father were there, obviously waiting to speak with his teacher.

"We want to show you something," his father said, taking a wallet out of his pocket "They found this on Douglas when he was killed. We thought you might recognize it."

Opening the billfold, he carefully removed two worn pieces of notebook paper that had
obviously been taped, folded and refolded many times. The teacher knew without looking that the papers were the ones on which she had listed all the good things each of Douglas' classmates had said about him.

"Thank you so much for doing that," Douglas' mother said. "As you can see, Mark treasured it."

All of Douglas'former classmates started to gather around. Edwin smiled rather sheepishly and said, "I still have my list. It's in the top drawer of my desk at home."

Gil's wife said, " Gil asked me to put his in our wedding album."

"I have mine too," Melds said. "It's in my diary"

Then Joan another classmate, reached into her pocket book, took out her wallet and showed her worn and frazzled list to the group. "I carry this with me at all times," Joan said and without batting an eyelash, she continued: "I think we all saved our lists"

That's when the teacher finally sat down and cried. She cried for Douglas' and for all his friends who would never see him again.

The density of people in society is so thick that we forget that life will end one day. And we don't know when that one day will be.

melanie's wake is at the St. Peter's Funeral Homes near the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral. Cause of death not clear. May said she had myoma, her liver was defective and that she had ovarian cancer. Problem is she never went to see a doctor and was admitted only last sunday.

All,

I am pleased to be able to provide a way to connect to each other. I hope we can all see each other during our next year's reunion whenever it may be. So please register. About our Christmas plan, I am not able to attend December's get together since I will be leaving for the states on Nov. 29 and will not be back until the first week of January. Can we reschedule to after New Year's party on January 10?

Joan

Raquel,

Sorry I don't have the capability of adding that function. I didn't create the website from scratch. There's only certain areas I can manipulate. At least we can use this for basic networking. Sorry:)

Hi everyone!

I might have said it several times to Joan but still want to thank her again & again...great to be in touch with all of you , really feels good, and I can see how everyone cares for everybody in our batch.

By the way, attended Melanie's burial yesterday with Rita Abellana, May Dela Cerna, Elena Dy with lots of relatives & friends of Melanie. Felt the pain her family is going through right now, coz I too just lost my closest brother last Jan. So sudden and still at 50 yrs. old.

Right, life is too short, so let's not waste it on trivial things, what really counts now are not "things" but our loveones, goodfriends, all of you out there reading this, miss you all and the days together... remember, do you remember the times of our life :-)

Cant attend Sybil's burial, old folks insist, I should not go to one burial then to another.... just got to follow , so no regrets, will pray with you guys come 1 pm for Sybil and for her family to have the much needed strength in this tough time.

Hope to see you all come Jan 10, opppsss can I bring my hubby with me para mas maka dugay ko with all of you :-) He wants to meet you all too , kana kung dili maulaw, he worries mawala nya kono ko :-)

take care,
Quintz

Joan, thanks for setting up this site.
The last time I was with you guys, probably 1999 at Nelson Yuvallos' place for a reunion meeting. That was wonderful. It's sad to hear some of our batchmates are already going back to our creator at a very young age. Rest in peace my friends/batchmates. I had so much fun with Douglas Policios, Raul Alicante, Irwin Velasco and Diday Montalban back then but anyway someday we'll see these guys again.
