Jennifer & Daren Heaton Williams

We got married in 1992, several months after Daren returned from a mission in Portugal. Daren graduated from BYU in molecular biology and chemistry and from University of Utah with a PhD in biochemistry. Jennifer received bachelor's and master's degrees in accounting from Southern Utah University. She worked as an accountant for the law firm of Jones, Waldo, Holbrook & McDonough while Daren was finishing his education. We moved to Laie, Hawaii in 2000 for Daren to accept a faculty position at BYU-Hawaii. He teaches courses in chemistry and biochemistry. Jennifer is an adjunct faculty member in the accounting department.

Jennifer: I remember sitting in Mr. Bonzo's class one day when a mouse ran across the classroom floor. Mr. Bonzo screamed and climbed up on a chair at the front of the classroom. One of the guys in the class (name withheld to protect the guilty) caught the mouse and through it up in the air. The mouse hit the ceiling, and then the guy caught it and took it outside to let it go. The next day, Mr. Bonzo came to class very upset because he saw the mouse lying dead outside the school building. He chewed out the guy for throwing it in the air.
