
Ann Elizabeth (Day) Adams, 51, died peacefully in her home on Thursday, March 6 surrounded by her loving family. Ann was born to Joseph E. and Elizabeth Ann (Hines) Day on May 17, 1962 in Washington, DC. She grew up and attended schools in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Ann attended the University of Northern Colorado where she was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority. In 1984, Ann moved to Tampa to begin her career as a commercial real estate leasing manager with Taylor and Mathis, Inc. On November 23, 1991, Ann married the love of her life, Alton Augustus Adams III in a ceremony at Jekyll Island, Georgia. Ann and Al were best friends and inseparable for the rest of her life. On October 14, 1999, the couple welcomed their son Alton. Al, Ann and Alton traveled extensively, including Ann's last dream vacation, a trip to Rome to see Pope Francis. Ann was an avid golfer, and shared her life with her closest friends. Ann is survived by her husband, Al, her son Alton, at home, her father Joseph (Andrea Chapman) Day, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and her sister Ellen (Steve LeRoy) Day, Tallahassee. She was preceded in death by her mother, her grandparents, and her maternal aunt and uncle. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ The King Catholic Church, with a reception to follow at the church.
