I just read this last week on Facebook. I don't know all the details, but I heard he was taken off life support. If anyone else knows anything, including funeral and awake services, please let me know immediately, thank you: (319) 540-2839.
I remember the first time I met John, it was at Grant School. He was a talented trumpet and keyboard player. He was also very intelligent. He was a few grades below us but managed to skip grades. I remember him in music class, where at that time, he lit up the room. The last time I saw John, he was working at the Walmart near Westdale Mall. He always smiled, and was eager to start building plans for a stadium to help bring more revenue to Cedar Rapids Iowa. He will be missed!
Services for John are Saturday, March 14th @ Stewart Baxter Funeral Home @ 1:30--visitation one hour prior. Here is the link to his obituary in The Gazette: http://thegazette.com/obituaries/john-sabotta-20150311-0001060147-01.
John was always smiling and kind to me. I will remember his amazing musical talent.
