Peggy Mitchell (Lietz) was one of my dearest friends at Central and beyond. Came from strong Western Kentucky roots, was best friends with Anne Marie Kmetz (Carter), Sharon Robinson (Ellingson), Patty Hendrix (Chicoine) and a host of other classmates. After high school and college she married Gary Lietz. It was a "forever" marriage, producing two wonderful offspring and a very happy life. Upon her trajic loss to fast moving cancer, my life has never been the same. I miss you and love you, and pray that you and Gary are happy together again in heaven. She and Gary will be at our reunion I assure you.
Peggy was a good childhood friend of mine, living on the same block as i did. As a child attending Southside School, i christened her as "Pegboard" and henceforth, i allways called her by that name. Peggy had poise, grace, class, and kindness toward everybody and everything. As we got into Edison jr. high, then Central highschool, we drifted into different social circles but i will allways remember Peggy as one of the great ones.
