Mark Alan Wartman

May 4, 1963 - Feb. 25, 2017

Mark Alan Wartman of Raleigh, NC passed away on Saturday, February 25th at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. Mark was born May 4, 1963, in Raleigh, NC, the son of Judy Murray Wartman and the late Charles Harris Wartman.

Mark is survived by his wife, Catherine Marie Wartman, and their daughter, Olivia Harris Wartman; sister, Melinda Wartman Woods and husband Walter Henry Woods, IV and their daughters Addison and Finley of Durham, NC; in-laws, Chris and Anita Sequino of Stuart, FL; Marc and Lori Kasowitz of NY, NY; John and Tamara Sequino of Huntington, NY; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Mark graduated from Chapel Hill High School and NC State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He was a consummate sales professional and enjoyed a long and distinguished career in medical and fitness equipment sales, earning numerous awards for his outstanding work.

A loving husband, father and son, Mark especially doted on his daughter, Olivia. He particularly enjoyed spending time with family and numerous friends playing golf, hunting, fishing and watching sports. Mark never met a stranger and his vibrant smile and personality will be missed by all.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 1 at University Presbyterian Church, 209 E. Franklin St., Chapel Hill. The family will receive guests at a reception following the service.

The family would like to thank the many wonderful and caring doctors and nurses at UNC Healthcare that supported Mark over the last few weeks. They provided outstanding care and compassion to Catherine, who was constantly at Mark's side.
