Forever Remembered

As we celebrate the Clarendon College Class of 2008 and look back on the years that helped shape so many of us, we also pause to remember those classmates who are no longer here to celebrate this milestone with us.

Among them is our dear classmate, Sasha Davy.

Sasha is remembered as someone with a warm spirit, a wonderful sense of humour and a personality that left lasting memories with those fortunate enough to know her. She could make people laugh, and it is often those little moments — the jokes, conversations and everyday interactions — that become the memories we treasure most as the years pass.

Life would eventually present Sasha with a battle far greater than anything we could have imagined during our carefree days at Clarendon College. She faced cancer, and throughout that journey she was surrounded by the love, prayers, hope and encouragement of those who cared deeply for her.

Her passing left a space that could never truly be filled.

Yet Sasha's story is about much more than the circumstances of her passing. It is about the life she lived, the friendships she formed and the people who still smile when they remember something she said or did.

That is the beautiful thing about memories.

They allow the people we have lost to remain part of the moments they should have been here to experience.

As old classmates reconnect, stories are retold and laughter fills the room at our reunion, Sasha will be there in her own way — part of the shared history that binds the Class of 2008 together.

We remember the young woman who once walked the corridors of Clarendon College alongside us. We remember her laughter, her humour and her strength. Most importantly, we remember Sasha.

Though she cannot be here to celebrate with us, her place in our class remains.

Rest peacefully, Sasha.

Gone from our gatherings, but never from our memories.

Once a Clarendonian, always a Clarendonian.
