DeWayne Schrader, 71, of Charles City, died Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at his home.

DeWayne Olive Schrader was born April 23, 1943, at Charles City, the son of Wayne and Leona (Streich) Schrader.  He graduated from Charles City High School.  He was united in marriage to Linda Kilby.  Over the years, DeWayne worked at Oliver/White Farm Equipment Company, drove school bus, and was warehouse foreman for McGregor's Furniture.  He was a past member of the Moose Lodge and Elks Lodge.  DeWayne enjoyed raising a garden, as well as small game.  He spent time watching western movies and listening to country music.  He was an accomplished craftsman and woodworker.  Above all DeWayne's talents, his greatest accomplishment and treasure was his family.  He adored his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and will be remembered as the best husband, father and grandfather ever.

Living family members include his wife of 52 years, Linda of Charles CIty; four children, Deb (Hondo) Shaver of Woodbridge, Va., Rod (Sandra) Schrader of Las Vegas, Nev., Steve (Johnna) Schrader of Mason CIty and Gary (Robin) Schrader of Cedar Falls.  He is also survivred by 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren, as well as sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
