Carol K. Smith, 68, of Charles City,, died Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at home.
Carol is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jim; five children, Colleen (Doug) Dixon of New Hampton; Carla (Mark) Steuck of Savage, Minnesota; Steven (Terry Tucker) of North Washington; Julie (Dan) Guyan of North Port, Florida; and Stacy (Jeff) Babcock of Charles City. Carol is also survived by twelve grandchildren and one great granddaughter, as well as a sister.
Carol was born July 20, 1944 in Sioux City. She graduated Charles City High School in 1962. On October 20, 1962, she married Jim in Sioux City. They lived on a farm near Ionia for 49 years before moving to Charles City.
Carol worked at Sara Lee and the Ionia Library. She enjoyed cooking, reading, sewing, doing puzzles, shopping, computer, rumage sales, diet Dr. Pepper and flowers. Most specially, though, she treasured spending time with her family, particularly with her grandchildren.
