Obituary

Sharon Elizabeth Beale Yencha Sanson, born August 8, 1944 in Glenville, WV, left this world peacefully with family by her side at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston on November 10, 2022.

Sharon was born the daughter of Johnny and Monta Beale of Charleston, WV and is preceded in death by both. Sharon spent many happy days in Glenville, WV as a child and graduated from Charleston High School in 1962. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Yencha, whom she met at Glenville State College, where they both sang in the choir. She fell in love with him because he looked and sang like Elvis. They stayed in love for a million other reasons, were proud parents to three children, managed the Edgewood and Washington Motels, were very active in the St. Matthews Catholic Church and choir, and lived a life surrounded by family in Ravenswood, WV.

In 2011, Sharon got a second chance at love and married Henry Sanson. They spent a magical 4 years traveling, singing and playing music together before Henry passed away in 2014.

Sharon was a proud West Virginian, a lover of all things beautiful, especially flowers and birds. She had a gift for words, a beautiful voice and her family has wonderful memories of listening to her play her dulcimer and sing “Country Roads.” We think of her when we hear” all my memories gather ‘round her,” because they truly do and always will.

Sharon is survived by her children, Mark Yencha, Julie (Tom) Speece, and Linda Nichols (Casey), all of Ravenswood, along with 9 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren that lovingly call her Grammy.

To honor her legacy: cook your favorite meal and share it with your family, adopt a cat, call your grandparents to tell them you love them, and make sure your friends know how much they mean to you every single day.

A million years wouldn’t have been long enough for us to be together, but what a joy that we got to spend so many loving each other.

At this time, the family will be grieving in private but a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood is handling arrangements.
