Wayne Allen Prince Jr. was born and raised in ST. Thomas, US. Virgin Islands, on August 23, 1978. He attended Charlotte Amalie High School and played the trumpet in the marching band. At the beginning of his senior year in high school, the Virgin Islands was hit hard by Hurricane Marilyn. Wayne then came to the States to finish school at
Seneca Valley High in Germantown, Maryland. After graduating high school, Wayne went on to Columbus State University where he graduated with a B.A. degree in Criminal Justice. He continued for 2 more years at Columbus State University and obtained a Master of Arts degree in Public Administration.
After his schooling, Wayne began working at Coastal International Security Services for the IRS. After a few years with the Security Service, on October 4, 2004, he began working for Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in Miami, Florida. In the beginning of his CBP career he worked both Primary and Secondary Passport and Baggage Control. For the past year he had been working on the Outbound Currency team, which he really enjoyed. He was instrumental in multiple currency and jewelry seizures that resulted in numerous arrests and convictions. Wayne loved traveling to Atlanta, Washington D.C. and the Virgin Islands to visit his family. He enjoyed playing golf with his uncle, Derrick Smith, and his brother-in-law, Troy Anderson. He was a big fan of baseball and loved challenging his uncles on the basketball court. Wayne was especially close to his sisters, Keshia and Kishma. On a recent short trip from Washington to Miami, Kishma had found and ordered a dress for her upcoming wedding. When the dress was ready, Wayne decided that instead of shipping the dress to his sister in Washington, he would surprise her and take it to her personally. That’s the kind of brother he was.
In addition to his close family ties, Wayne also involved himself in outreach work here in Miami. He loved being a Mentor for children at the CBP sponsored Lenora B. Smith Elementary School. He was also an active participant in collecting “back to school” supplies, food for Thanksgiving, and toys for the annual toy drive. Wayne Prince Jr. is survived by his beloved mother and father, Cheryl and Wayne Prince Sr. of St. Thomas, U.S.
Virgin Islands; his sisters, Keshia Anderson of Atlanta, Georgia, and Kishma Prince of Washington D.C.; his nephew, Amir Anderson and his niece, Asia Anderson. Wayne is also survived by numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
