Kay is very fondly remembered for her big smile and boundless energy. Her obituary tells us that she continued to be a friend to all after graduating from East. How very sad that cancer has cut short a beautiful life. My sincere condolences go out to her family and other loved ones.
I met Kay when we were in the 4th grade at Chantilly School. Since we lived close to each other we often walked home from school together, rode our bicycles in the parking lot of the Ovens Auditorium, and took piano lessons once a week from the same teacher who came to our houses. We often laughed that we were able to learn to play the instrument in spite of the fact that he usually took a nap during our lessons. Her family moved when we were in Jr. Hi, but we reconnected when my family moved and I went to school at McClintock Jr. Hi and then East Meck. After high school she went on to UNC and I stayed at home as a commuter student at Queens College, but we stayed in touch. In 1966 we were in each other's weddings (I played the organ for hers and she was my matron of honor.) It truly was a privilege to know Kay. She will be missed by so many people whose lives she has touched. Hers was most certainly "a llife well lived." Linda

It was clear then and later that Kay was one of the best of us. I am grateful to have known her even though it was so long ago.
