Obituary for William Perry Whitlow

William “Perry” Whitlow, 76, of Kure Beach, NC died on Monday, April 1, 2019, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. Perry was born December 15, 1942, in Charlotte, NC and lived most of his life in the Charlotte area. He graduated from Garinger High School in 1961 and became a Master Electrician. Perry was an accomplished horseman, photographer, snow and water-skier, scuba diver, sailor, pilot, fisherman… and friend. With a quick wit and gregarious attitude, Perry was swift to make friends and slow to let them go. He relished a good joke as much as a good time and was always on the hunt for both. He was a loving husband, son, father, brother and friend. Perry will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Perry was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Pauline (Dulin) Whitlow.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Nina Shank Whitlow, children; David (Denise) Whitlow of Stallings, NC and Travis Whitlow of Kure Beach, NC; one granddaughter and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Sible Seiver of Mint Hill, NC, a brother Dean Whitlow (Becky) of Greenville, SC and many loving nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, 494 E. Plaza Drive, Mooresville, NC. Immediately following, the family invites you to a Celebration of Life at The Heritage House (same address) (casual dress appropriate).
