CHARLOTTE – Kathy Ann Stegall, 72, died Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Atrium Health Mercy.  She was born on November 26, 1951, in Gastonia, NC to Harry and Jane Stegall. 

Growing up in Charlotte, Kathy was a First-Class Girl Scout and graduated from Myers Park High School in 1970.  Kathy received several degrees/certifications from various schools including Montreat Anderson, Central Carolina Technical College, Western Piedmont Community College, Central Piedmont Community College and the Medical University of South Carolina. 

Her interest in medicine led her to become both a registered Medical Laboratory Technician and a Licensed Veterinary Technician.  As a Medical Laboratory Technician, Kathy worked at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, Cabarrus Hospital in Cabarrus County and Baptist Hospital in Columbia, SC.  As a Veterinary Technician she worked at several animal hospitals including Hagaman and Sink Animal Hospitals.

Kathy lived in both Columbia, SC and most recently, Charlotte, NC and was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Charlotte.

She is survived by her mother, Jane Page Stegall.  Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Harry Estes Stegall, and her sister, Janet Lee Todd.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 20 at the Hollywood Cemetery in Gastonia, NC.
