Wilma Lee McDaris WEAVERVILLE - Wilma Lee McDaris, age 86, of Weaverville, died Friday, February 17, 2023, in Charlotte.  She was born April 5, 1936, in Buncombe County and lived in Charlotte while working for Eastern Airlines over 20 years. After retirement from Eastern Airlines, she was employed at Piedmont Airlines and later US Air as a reservation agent.

She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Rosa Penland McDaris. She was also preceded in death by her son, Darrell Banks and brothers, Roger and Donald McDaris.

Surviving her is son, Ronald Euhl Banks of Davidson; sisters, Jean Fitchett of Austin, Texas and Marilyn McDaris of Asheville; brother, Michael McDaris of Charlotte; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 22 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Jamerson officiating.  Burial will follow in West Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22 at West Funeral Home.
