Nancy Durham Burnet Surfside Beach Nancy "Nanky" Durham Burnet was born May 23, 1953 and went to a much better place June 11, 2009 after a heroic battle of cancer. Nancy lost her battle at 11:58 P.M. at Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet, SC. Nancy attended Myers Park High School and studied horticulture at Central Piedmont Community College both in Charlotte. She loved gardening, John Prine and having a good time with her friends and loved ones. We will greatly miss her but she gave us many lasting memories, most of which ended in a good laugh, and for that we thank God he gave her life. She is survived by her daughter, Amy Creek and two grandchildren, Jacob and Elizabeth Creek, all of Charlotte, NC; Her father, Joseph Durham and the late Alice Y. Durham of Surfside Beach, SC formerly of Charlotte, NC; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and John Alexander of Salisbury, NC formerly of North Miami, FL; she is also survived by many loving relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, June 15, 2009 at Trinity Presbyterian Church of Surfside Beach with Reverend Preston Shealy officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte, NC.
