Bill was my best friend growing up. We attended kindergarten (Avondale Presbyterian Church) through high school together. I was the best man in his wedding. Unfortunately, our lives took different paths after college and we rarely saw each other. My brother, Eric and I attended his funeral and I have attached his obituary.
"William Hutchinson Murray, III "Bill" CHARLOTTE - Mr. Murray, 59 of Charlotte, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2012. Born in Charlotte on April 14, 1953, William was the son of William and Alice (Lawrence) Murray. Mr. Murray was an avid outdoors person who enjoyed sailing and water-skiing on Lake Norman. Known to friends as Bill, his parents had affectionately called him "Hutch", a nickname that at the age of 15 he no longer used. Bill also enjoyed snow skiing and camping and was a devoted and caring owner who loved his many German Shepherds. He was a talented carpenter who found his calling working with cabinetry. Known as a kind and carefree spirit, Bill shunned detailed structure in his life. Mr. Murray is survived by his brother Kevin L. Murray of Mooresville, his beloved dogs Angel and Frodo and his macaw Chico. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Friday, September 14th from 7-7:30PM with services following at 7:30PM, at Carolina Funeral Service & Cremation Center, 5505 Monroe Rd., Charlotte. Online condolences may be addressed to www.carolinafuneral.com"
