Nancy Brooks White

Nancy Brooks White, 54, died Thursday, February 4, 2010.

Born in Greenville, September 25, 1955, she was the daughter of Elizabeth Withington White of Greenville and the late John T. White.

Ms. White was a graduate of Myers Park High School in Charlotte, the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and the Loyola University School of Law in New Orleans. At the time of her retirement, she was General Counsel for Bell South in the state of Florida.

Surviving, in addition to her mother, are two sisters, Frances W. Hisashima and her husband, David, of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Celia W. Clark and her husband, Carl, of Greenville; a niece, Elizabeth Hisashima of Greenville and a nephew, John Hisashima of Honolulu. In addition to her father, Nancy was predeceased by a younger sister, Elizabeth T. White.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 7, 2010, at 2 p.m. in the Markley Chapel, Christ Church Episcopal. The Reverend Ted W. DuVall will officiate. A reception will be held the Arrington Room following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Greenville County Historical Society, 211 East Washington Street, Suite C, Greenville, SC 29601, or to the charity of one’s choice.
