Charles P. "Chuck" Maxwell

December 11, 1953 - May 16, 2020

Charles P. Maxwell went to be with his heavenly father Saturday, May 16, 2020 after a valiant battle with a long illness. His devotion to his family and his firm belief God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.  At the time of passing he was surrounded by his loving family. He was a catholic and received his last rights from St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church.

Chuck was born December 11, 1953 in Tampa, Florida. He graduated from Myers Park High School with the class of 1973.  He was employed by National Gypsum, where he retired after 25 years as Facility Manager. 

Chuck was an outgoing person who loved his family and his many friends.  Chuck had a big heart and would always lend a helping hand to anyone in need.  He will always be remembered as the life of the party. Chuck had a contagious laugh and brought many smiles to people’s faces.  He was an avid golfer, sports car enthusiast, enjoyed cruising on his motorcycle and shared fun memories boating and dirt biking with his family.

Chuck is survived by his wife Debbie, his daughter Elizabeth and 3 sons Christopher, Taylor and Graham, and grandchildren Madeline and James.  He is also survived by his siblings Patricia Lipham (Jimmy) from Florida, Michael Maxwell (Bari) from Arkansas and Cindy Maxwell Mobley from Florida.

Charles was cremated Saturday, May 23, 2020 at the Boston’s-Roseboro’s Mortuary, Cremation Society of Charlotte.  A celebration of life service will be determined in the near future.  Notification of his celebration of life will be placed on the mortuary website and Facebook.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Monroe North Carolina or Humane Society of Charlotte, NC.
