Sharon Thomas was my best friend in Junior High (AG) and at Myers Park High School. Her Mom is Betty Thomas, who was the math teacher at Myers Park for years. She now lives in Wilmington with her son, David. I will never forget our friendship which continued when we both went off to different colleges. She married a great guy, Randy Hobbs, and had two beautiful children, Jeremy and Maggie. Maggie is in college now and is identical to her Mom! Sharon passed away on my birthday, June 7. I am sure all who remember her know what a great person she was and, she will always be remembered for her laugh!
Hope, I have fond memories of Sharon's Mom-- Ms. Thomas-- Algebra 2? -- wasn't my best course but she was incredibly dedicated to helping me pass the class. Interestingly, the summer of 10th grade, Sharon and I carpooled to Garinger High for summer classes- she drove because I didn't have my license yet. Did not know she had passed until I saw her name on list.
