Dorothy Muriel Crenshaw (Grabman) - Class Of 1955

Dorothy Murille Crenshaw Grabman went home to the Lord on Easter morning, April 4, 2021. The daughter of Edward Baker Crenshaw and Dolly Deane Crenshaw, she was born on October 28, 1937, and was a lifelong resident of Albemarle County.

She graduated from Albemarle High School and was employed at UVA Cardiology.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by siblings, Lawrence Baker Crenshaw, Virginia Crenshaw Haigh, James Edward Crenshaw, Norma Lee Broughman, Madeline Scott Bulls, Miles Aubrey Crenshaw, and Bobby O'Neil Crenshaw. She is also predeceased by daughter-in-law, Betty Grabman; sister-in-law, Janet Crenshaw; and dear friends, Mary Lindsay Abernathy and Juanita Brezinski.

She is survived by brother, Willard Jones Crenshaw; sister, Teresa Crenshaw Bingler; sons, Joseph M. Grabman and wife, Amiko L. Farrar, and K. Bryan Grabman; daughter, Judy Mercado and her husband, Larry Mercado; former husband, Gene Grabman, with whom she was reconciled, in addition to numerous nephews and nieces. She is also survived by grandchildren, Lindsay Magruder, Matt Grabman, and John Isaac Grabman; and great-grandchildren, Terrence, Kayden, and Angel.

Dorothy was an avid gardener, cook, seamstress, reader, and traveler. She volunteered with the Girl Scouts, Meals On Wheels, and after school assistance for materials preparation among other causes. She enjoyed watching her grandson Isaac play baseball. A tireless worker with a robust constitution, she always had time to help others.
