Marjorie N. Pennington, 81, of Charlottesville, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022. Marjorie was born on October 7, 1940, in Charlottesville, Virginia, to the late William and Mary Lee Norford. In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Randall Pennington (Randy).

Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Amy Pennington (partner Laura Longley), son, Randy Pennington, sister, Ann Graham, grandson, Derek Butler, granddaughter Lauren Balsley (husband Scott Balsley) great granddaughters Remi Balsley & Kimber Balsley and a special nephew who was like a son to her, Chad Graham (wife Gina Graham) along with many family members and friends.

Margie (Puddin') was an amazing Christian mother and a matriarch to our family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were very special to her. She loved to cook and always made sure everyone was taken care of. She loved to go to lunch with her friends and play Chicken Foot. Margie was very active in her church and loved UVA sports. She enjoyed her retirement from the UVA Department of Surgery and kept in touch with many of her coworkers. She loved the beach, especially North Myrtle Beach, and spending time there with her family and friends. She was an amazing cook and never met a stranger. She was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 11:00am, at Cherry Ave Christian Church. Family Night will be held January 14, 2022, from 5:00-7:00 at Cherry Avenue Christian Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont.

Our family would like to thank the staff of UVA 4 Central, UVA CCU and Hospice of the Piedmont for taking such good care of our Mom.
