Patricia Page Beale (Garnett) - Class Of 1966

Patricia "Trisha" Carter Garnett was called by God to enter her eternal rest on September 10, 2024. She passed peacefully in her sleep, at Rosewood Greenbriar after a 9-year battle with Alzheimer's.

Trisha grew up in Crozet and graduated from Albemarle High School. Throughout her career, she worked as a legal secretary, managed a local radio station, and served as a sales representative for Channel 29 News. Her most cherished role, however, was at Charlottesville First United Methodist Church (CFUMC), where she dedicated 16 years as church administrator and later as facility manager, before retiring. For Trisha, her time at CFUMC was more than just a job. She found great fulfillment in being part of the church community and helping with the church's missions, including Bread and Blessings, providing shelter for the homeless during the winter, and the preschool program.

A fine cook, Trisha enjoyed hosting family gatherings and planning surprise events for her loved ones. She will be fondly remembered for her selflessness and devotion to helping others. Over the years, she lovingly cared for her first husband, who passed away from cancer, as well as her uncle, aunt, mother and mother-in-law.

Trisha loved fishing, a passion instilled by her father who taught her the skill at a young age. She and her husband, E.N., later shared this joy, spending countless peaceful hours together on their boat at their favorite fishing spot. She also looked forward to annual beach trips with family and treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren.

Trisha was the youngest daughter of Harry P. Beale and Josephine Sandridge Beale. She is survived by her sister, Carolyn Page Simpson (Steve), her husband of 31 years, E. N. Garnett Jr., and her stepchildren: Laura Garnett and granddaughter Zoe, Scott Garnett (April) and grandchildren Ella and Beck, and Julie Garnett (Grant) and grandson Connor.

In accordance with her wishes, Trisha will be cremated. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on September 21st at Charlottesville First United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the CFUMC Preschool Program in her honor.

The family extends special thanks to the staff at Rosewood Village-Greenbriar, the team at Trinity Hospice, and Shamika Harrell, a special caregiver.
