Judy Wood Dunigan, 72, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, passed away at home on Saturday, February 14, 2026. She was a beloved mother, wife, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She leaves behind her husband of 26 years, Bobby Dunigan; her daughters, Kaitlin Welch (Michael) and Jacy Tench (Robert); grandchildren, Charlotte, Mason, Abigail, and Emma; siblings, Vickie Wingfield, D. Anthony Loyd (Caroline), and J. Steven Henley (Jenny); and sister-in-law, Patricia Dunigan Moore.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Geneva Wood of Charlottesville, Virginia.

The family would like to express their love and appreciation to Dr. Maurer and the entire staff at Hematology Oncology Associates of Fredericksburg for the tremendous care given to Judy during her cancer journey.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, February 27th, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A celebration of Judy's life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 28th, at Ferry Farm Baptist Church, with a reception to follow in the church's Family Life Center.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hematology Oncology Associates of Fredericksburg or Legacy Hospice of Fredericksburg.
