David S. Calhoun III, 84, of Albemarle County, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022.

Born June 23, 1937, in Charlottesville, David was the son of the late David S. Calhoun Jr. and Cornelia Crebbs Calhoun.

David graduated from Albemarle High School in 1956 and worked many years at State Farm Insurance Company. He was an avid duckpin bowler and collector of clocks. In 2003 he retired from the Albemarle County School Transportation Office and spent his retirement enjoying UVA sporting events, most importantly his beloved Virginia Cavalier Baseball team.

He is survived by his sister, Anne Calhoun Harrell, and niece, Elizabeth Harrell Thomas (Casey), both of Richmond; many beloved cousins; and his best friend, Buddy.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Martha Jefferson Health & Wellness Center for years of love and support.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Olivet Presbyterian Church in Albemarle, officiated by Pastor Seth Lovell, with burial immediately following in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Olivet Presbyterian Church at 2575 Garth Road, Charlottesville, VA 22901.
