Denise Lynn Mendicino

Denise Lynn Hatcher Mendicino passed away at her home in Albemarle County on Thursday, February 5, 2015. Born December 13, 1955 in Charlottesville, she was the daughter of the late Carl Hatcher Jr. and Marietta V. Boone Hatcher. Denise was preceded in death by an older brother, Larian "Larry" S. Hatcher. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 28 years, Vincent Rudolf "Dolf" Mendicino, and his son, Vincent Rudolf "Chip" Mendicino III; a brother, Allan D. Hatcher and his wife, Suzanne; and four sisters, Sharyon L. Rogers and her husband, Billy, Deborah A. Sillett and her husband, Tommy, Lisa Atwell and Greg Bugg, and Rhonda J. Snow and her husband, Scotty. Denise also leaves many nieces, nephews and special friends who were all dear to her heart. Including Jeff, Kim and Kelly Rogers; Suzanne Hatcher Ortiz, Tommy Sillett Jr., Britney and Sandra Hatcher, Cari and Jonathan Atwell, Michael Weidman, Jarred and Chad Snow. Denise graduated from Lane High School in 1974. She earned an Associate in Applied Science Degree from Piedmont Virginia Community College in 1997, and later went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Old Dominion University in 2012. She began her professional life as an administrative assistant for Salley, Weissinger and Company and later worked as the office manager for the Cahill-Weber Group. Denise loved animals so very much. She lovingly cared for many of them over the years. She leaves behind 6 cats and 2 dogs that will miss her very much.
