Does anyone know my favorite teacher's status or whereabouts - Shirley Hess.  I believe her husband was Jack Hess a librarian at Pierce College.  Would love to know about her.  Anyone?  Lee Hess

I JUST saw your query about Shirley Hess.  Though I am sure someone has responded to you by now,
Shirley died in September, 2006.  She had of course long before retired and was living in Oregon.

The best teach at CHS.

I was sorry to read that Mrs. Hess had passed away.  I loved her Constitutional Problems class, and many of the lessons I learned have stayed with me my entire life.  I am a paralegal, and Constitutional issues come up all the time. Mrs. Hess also took us to Van Nuys to look at the way the courts worked, and we actually got to see a couple of very interesting cases, including a statutory rape case (we were kicked out of that one), and we got to see County Coroner Thomas Noguchi testify briefly.  She opened up a whole new world for me, and obviously for Lee, and I will never forget consterprobs.  RIP dear Mrs. Hess.
