Yeppurs! It is right around the corner!!

Elaine, our Admin for this website, will be setting up a new tab for our next Parteee on this website and perhaps a private Group on Facebook!  It will probably be held sometime during the summer or fall of '18, but we aren't tied (you ARE retired now, aren't you?), to any school calendar years any longer....well, maybe one guy in Las Vegas! He started all over again when he hit 55! Good on ya, Mate!

(You don't have to "join" either this CHS site,  nor any page we set up on Facebook, in order to be included in communications; either join one or the other, or let someone else know how to contact you, and we will keep you in the loop. I am well aware that many of you cherish your anonymity, and if you don't believe me, then I cannot tell you whose secrets I have kept for 10 or 20 years or more, cuz they'd disown me. Ya gotta trust someone.) PS, I have also heard some of you say "I didn't have any friends", or "nobody remembers me", but you would be surprised how many of us remember you....and you are never too old to have old friends....

We have the beginnings of a "committee", but could always use more help, expecially if you are able to meet "locally"....meaning somewhere in the West Valley or Ventura County, I guess. That is where we had most of our meetings for the 60th Birthday Bash. (In case you weren't aware, we celebrated ALL of our 60th birthdays at the Sagebrush Cantina in 2010.) We may be able to have some members of the committee skype in order to participate. We will have to see what capabilities we have when we begin meeting.

If you a have a brilliant idea for a theme or location, please share it with us.

We have spread out even more across the country as we have retired, so we aren't necessariy tied to the WV for a venue, but many people like to make the "pilgrimage". We will keep our options open.

If you look at our membership list, you will see that there are only about 160+ who have joined and still live in California. The rest of our "members" are all over the country, but the key issue is locating those who haven't joined this group. If you have any contact info for someone who hasn't joined this group, please encourage them to do so. If they don't want to join, but want to be informed about the Reunion plans, please forward the contact inf to either me or Elaine Rock.

John, in case someone doesn't know, should they contact you using this reply feature or another way? ... not everyone is on facebook... Maybe make that clear in the original post?

Yes John, I did begin a new career at 55; however, I am retired from that now (old folks career = 10 years!). Now I manage my daughters. How about Vegas baby?

Taree, either through this reply feature, or via personal chat on Fb is so desired. I know some people, like I mentioned in the first post, do not want everyone out there to begin "friending" them, so their personal info will be confidential if they contact me through the "private chat" feature on Fb.

Hey Michael, I didn't give you away, you did! But yeah, Vegas is always a possibility! Do you know any hotels that will give us a smokin' hot deal on a couple hundred rooms? Allegiant has cheap airfares from almost every city in the US direct to Vegas....food for thought. Of course, there are some who will object to "Sin City" as our venue; gotta keep that in mind.

Is it time to include 1967, 1969, and 1970?

Hi John, FYI - Classmates who do not use Facebook can also contact you by sending you a private message from this website in lieu of replying in Class Chat. All they need to do is click on your name located in the Classmate Profiles tab listing and they will see, below your high school graduation photo, a link to "Send John a private message."  After a message is sent to you, you'll get an email notification that you have a message waiting. Let me know if you want to write and have me send a "global" email message directly to all classmates giving them the options for reaching you about the reunion (Class Chat, Email from website and Facebook messaging). If there is a FB page I would like to be added.  I check there more than here.  I am in KY but do work in Europe.  I'd like to attend but I am gone in August and October.  Any way it could be July or September?  Just curious. I have never been able to attend one and really would love to.  We're not getting any younger, right.

I am not wild about Vegas, but am willing to go anywhere I guess.  Thanks for organizing this site.

Vegas sounds good to me.  Yosemite might be a good option too.  There is a number to call for group reservations in Housekeeping or for those that aren't into camping there's the lodge or the Ahwahnee.  And like you said, we are all/mostly retired now so we could go when it is not so crowded.   Early June or Sept. would be great times to go.  I would also be into a wine tasting destination (Temecula, Paso, Napa) though I know that isn't everyone's "cup of tea" : ).  My husband says his vote would be Hawaii.

hahahaha....is your hubby picking up the tab for airfare? It's one thing to take Allegiant to LV, but Honolulu??? Hmmm

Sounds fun.  So many years!  ugh  Do you think a 3 day cruise would be too much?  It's so hard to connect and talk when it's just one evening.  Just an idea.

I am very interested in attending but the sooner we decide on a location, date, etc. the better.

I love the 3 day cruise idea.  The more that go the less it can cost.  For every 10-15 people one is free on many ships if booked by the same person.  I would prefer coming to California because I can visit other friends and family still in the area... two for one trip.

Thanks to all who are organizing.  Remember many busy lives makes it difficult to please all.  Do your best and those who can come will.

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to touch bases with the reunion committee.  Darlene and I are pretty much available for anything that comes up.  However, I must admit that anything on a boat would be problematic for me. (Boy, do I get seasick.).  Like most people a little bit of warning would be appreciated so that we can plan accordingly.  Obviously, the wine country idea has become a problem.  September would be a good time frame for us. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
