Gail L. Freeman was born Dec. 5, 1950 in Dennison, Ohio. She passed away Sept. 16 in Truckee.

Freeman was raised in Canoga Park, Calif., and has resided in Truckee for the past 27 years. She was a very dedicated wife and mother always cheering on her children at soccer games, baseball and on the ski slopes. She stayed active in all of their school and athletic events by starting to volunteer when her children were at the Truckee Parent Co-op Preschool and continued through their school years. She was very hospitable, kind and loving, always opened her arms and home to children throughout the years.

Besides her many friends in Truckee, Gail kept in contact with many of her Chatsworth High School friends and continued to reunite with them over the years. Gail is survived by her husband, Dennis Freeman, whom she married Nov. 15, 1975 in Chatsworth, CA., her children Erin and Mathew Freeman of Truckee, mother Rowena Burroway of Fallbrook, Calif., sisters Pattie Van Den Elkhof and her husband Rudie of Fallbrook, Amy Lew and her husband Tom of Flower Mound, Texas, brother Bill Burroway and his wife Cindy of Duluth, Ga., brother-in-law Mark Freeman of Truckee, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, William Burroway, and sister, Debbie Wynott.
