I thought George had a rare bone disease and died not too long after we graduated. Did I remember that right?

I just did a quick public records search and found that a George H. Votteler born in 1950 died in Los Angeles County on 12/19/68.

What do I say about my brother George, also know to many as "Hank". He was a great person. A great artist. If he had lived I am sure his art would be hanging in museums today.

My brother was diagnosed with bone cancer when he was a sophomore at Chatsworth. There was no cemo in those days so he went through a battery of radiation treatments at UCLA. His cancer went into remission for four years. It reappeared in October 1968 and he passed away on December 19, 1968.

He is loved and remembered by many. His time here was short, but he had more to do in heaven. It has been many years, but I will always remember him as my goofball brother. He was the best.... Kathryn Votteler Chabot

Kathy, so well said! Your brother was nice to everyone. He had such a special heart. He loved "The Woods" band and good friends with Herb Melton and Buzz. I often think about him and you when I would come over to the house. Boy, I cannot believe how many classmates we have lost. Good health to everyone!
