I had to say goodbye to a good friend this weekend. His memorial service was yesterday (9/3/11) and was a very good and uplifting service. Played basketball, golf and hunted a lot with him after CHS. When he came back from college, we shared an apartment up until he married his high school sweetheart, Beverly York Billingsley. They had a great marriage, two children and two grandchildren. I regret that I hadn't been in touch with him in several years, but I have so many wonderful memories. I learned a lot about him from the service and have so much respect for him and the life he led. Rest in peace, my friend.
Dewayne you will be sadly missed by all who knew you. You were a 6th grader when I started 7th grade BBS. You were one of the outstanding guys in the school. But unlike a lot of guys who played sports and were very good you never let it go to your head. Your Christians values remained a constance in your life and what you are best know for. You enriched all the lives you touched.
