Dale Dewayne Thurman - Class Of 1966

Dale Dewayne Thurman, 70, died on Thursday, August 16, 2018.

Dale was a very kind, loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

 A native of Chattanooga, he graduated Chattanooga High School and immediately served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for the Chattanooga Glass Company for 22 years prior to its closing. He later retired from the Chattanooga Convention and Trade Center where he was the building engineer for 25 years.

He had several hobbies including woodworking and projects with his grandson. He was always busy!

He was preceded in death by his father, Roy and mother, Lavada Thurman; sister, Gloria Dover and grandson, Travis Hale.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Brown Thurman of 47 years, daughter, Angie (Vic) Hale; son, Kevin Thurman and two grandchildren, Devin Thurman and Brooke Hale; brother, Terry (Annette) Thurman; sister, Janice Mayhew and several Nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.

There will be no visitation.
