Dave Ferrin

David L. Ferrin, 40 of Cherokee died Sunday in Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital after a five-month illness.  His home was at the west edge of the city.  He had been a resident of Cherokee all his life.

Mr. Ferrin was born April 16, 1940 in Cherokee County On July 11, 19654, he married Dianne Dunn at Cherokee.  Mr. Ferrin worked for the Iowa Electric Light and Power Company as a gas serviceman for 21 years.

He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, the Methodist Men’s Club, served as a Cub Scout scoutmaster, had been active in the softball league and had served in the U.S. Army for 1962-63.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Mark and Scott and a daughter, Michelle, all at home; hip parents, Mr. And Mrs. George Ferrin, Cherokee; Brothers, Dale G., Platte City, Mo., and Daniel, Apple Valley, Minn., and a sister Mrs. Dale (Sharon) Sudtelgte, Remsen.  His mother, Opal Clark Ferrin, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul’s united Methodist church.  The Rev. Bob Davis will officiate.  Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Boothby Funeral home.
