Dorothy (Dotty) Barton, 53, of LeMars, died Oct. 17, 1993 at Floyd. Valley Hospital in LeMars after a long battle Cancer.

Funeral services were, held on Oct. 20, 1993 at First United Methodist Church in LeMars with Rev. Lynn Potter officiating. Burial was at Memorial Cemetery in LeMars.

Dorothy Barton was born July 21,1940, in Cherokee, daughter of Lewis and Ilene (Moses) Nelson. She married Donald Barton September 12, 1959, in Cherokee. Dorothy lived in Sioux Falls, Ft. - Dodge, Cherokee and Aurelia. She graduated from Aurelia High School in 1958. Dotty has been a florist her whole life working 14 years in Davenport, returning to Northwest Iowa, she had been head designer at Lemurs Flower House since May, 1974. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by her father and grandnephew, Jaz Michael Nelson.  She is survived by her mother Ilene Nelson, LeMars; Brothers, Kenneth Nelson, LeMars; Donald Nelson and wife Marie, Dubuque; nieces and nephews, Christina Nelson, Jacque Nelson, Scott Nelson, Loren Nelson and Kelli Nelson.
