Obituary

MCDONAGH, Gordon A. – of Zephyrhills Florida, formerly, Burt, died Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 11AM, Saturday, May 4, 2019 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Pastor Scott Kroener officiating. Burial to follow in Cook Cemetery. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 12PM until 8PM and on Saturday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Memorial contributions may be made to Taymouth Presbyterian Church, First Presbyterian Church of Zephyrhills, or HPH Hospice Inc.  
  
Gordon was born August 8, 1940 in Taymouth Township, Michigan to the late Gordon and Margeueretta (Logan) McDonagh. He graduated from Chesaning High School in 1958. Gordon married Joyce Britton on February 13, 1960 at the Montrose Methodist Church. He retired from Saginaw Steering Gear in 1993 with 34 years of seniority and was a member of UAW Local #699. Gordon was a previous member of the Taymouth Presbyterian Church and a current member of the First Presbyterian Church of Zephyrhills. He was also a member of the Saginaw Moose Lodge #82, Oakland County Classic Chevrolet Club, and the Mid-Michigan Classic Car Club. Gordon enjoyed telling a good joke, traveling, and showing his 1955 Chevy. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his family.  
  
Surviving are: Wife of 59 years, Joyce McDonagh; Children: Michael (Cary) McDonagh and Michelle (Jason) Powell; Foster daughter, Michelle (Dane) Carnell; Grandchildren: Jacob (Jordan Carpenter) Kneuss, Joseph (Nicole) Kneuss, Levi (Raeanne) Kneuss, Shelby (Aaron Martinez) Kneuss, and Ashley (James) Clymer; Great grandchildren: Aleigha, Joey, Elijah, Paul, Tyler, Savanna, Arlee, Lukas, Jaxon Kneuss and Owen Clymer; Sister, D. Jean Pabalis; Sisters-in-law, Donna VanTassel and Sandi (John) Barber; Very special lady, Felecia Harvey and her daughters: Matilda, Roxy, Serenity, Rosalie and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by: Brother, Robert McDonagh; Sisters-in-law: Barbara McDonagh and Barbara Britton; Brothers-in-law: Don Pabalis, Jim Belill, Lowell VanTassel, and Bernard Britton. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lorie Pritzloft, Stephanie Valodez, and Carl Hemphill for their compassionate care of Gordon during his final days.
