Chico was not used to winters in PA. Not that cold in Panama. Walking to class in the morning, he would shiver from the cold. We were the only cadet engineering majors. At graduation, the engineering graduates were the first called to receive their diplomas. We were called in alphabetical order according to our last name. On this day Anastasio's last name was Baca, not Ruiz, and he received his diploma first. If memory is good, Baca was his mother's maiden name. I believe it was 1989 or about then when I last spoke with Anastasio. He called from Miami. He was on his way home with his father from the Cleveland heart clinic.
