William Ashby ‘66

William Thomas Ashby, III, of Warrington, passed away at home on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 after a lengthy illness.  He was the husband of Nancy Todd (Hellwig) Ashby, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage. Born in Aston, he was the son of the late William Thomas Ashby, Jr and the late Alice (Ignatuk) Ashby.  He was a graduate of Chichester High School.  He graduated from Pennsylvania Military College in 1966.  He served in the United States Army from 1966 through 1968.  Bill worked for Firestone, Amchem, Rhone-Poulenc, and Ashland Railway.  He loved sports, including baseball, football and golf.  He enjoyed coaching his sons' baseball teams at the Warrington Athletic Association. In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Philip Todd Ashby (Wendy) of Jacksonville, FL, and Kenneth Allen Ashby (Mary) of Pennsburg, a daughter-in-law Jamie Ashby of Sellersville, and nine grandchildren: Allison, William Thomas V, Daniel, Zachary, Russell, Abigail, Amanda, Taylor and Kaitlyn.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son William Thomas Ashby, IV. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, April 27, at the Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Inc., 667 Harleysville Pike, Telford, PA 18969, where the family will receive friends from 9:30-10:15 AM.  Interment will be in Zion Memorial Gardens, Telford.
