
John (Jay) Repetto notified me that Allen Callahan passed away on 2/18/25. Allan was an evening Student in Engineering. Jay passed on a pertial obituary which I will retype below:
Allen was a veteran of the US Navy having served during the Korean Conflict on active duty from October 1951 to September 1955. and on Reserve duty until his honorable discharge in October 1959. After his discharge he was employed by Scott Paper Co. in Philadelphia, PA in their Engineering Division. He obtained his BS in Engineering while working at Scott Paper and attending the Evening Division of Widerner (PMC) University in Chester PA. graduating in January 1966. He served Scott Paper Co. in various engineering duties and in several locations of corporate and production facilities; most notibly in Mobile AL. the pro location of Scott Paper Co's largest production facility. He retired from Scott in December 1988, taking advantage of an early retirement program offered by SCott Paper Co. and moved to Charlotte, NC where he workedas an engineering consultant untill March 1962. He moved to Lake Lure, NC in 1999 and to Spindale in 2010. He was a member of Shelby Presbyterian Church.
